Air movement is one of the four pillars of drying (temperature, humidity, airflow, and the material itself). Moving air strips the thin saturated boundary layer off a wet surface so evaporation can continue — without it, that layer stays put and drying stalls. The air mover is not a commodity fan; it is the tool that converts electrical energy into evaporation.
The machine you buy, and the machine you deploy on a given job, directly changes drying time, the number of units (and therefore the claim cost), and whether drying is actually being done to the IICRC S500 principle that Australian restorers work to — airflow on all wet surfaces.
